West Hollywood - Sunset Strip

West Hollywood is an affluent city in Los Angeles County, located within the Los Angeles Basin, famous for its entertainment, restaurants, and the Sunset Strip. The population exceeds 35,000. Beverly Hills is to the west, the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles is to the north and northwest, the Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollywood is to the east, and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Melrose and Fairfax are to the south. Hancock Park, which is part of Los Angeles, is to the southeast.

Sunset Strip

The Sunset Strip is the 1.5 mile section of Sunset Boulevard that runs through West Hollywood. It runs from Beverly Hills at Sierra Drive on the west to Havenhurst Drive in Hollywood which is a district in Los Angeles. The Sunset Strip is world famous for its restaurants, nightclubs, entertainment, and boutiques. The Hollywood Hills section of Hollywood is located north of the Sunset Strip.

 

Beverly Center

The world famous Beverly Center is a large eight story first class shopping mall located on the edge of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood in the Beverly Center Area.

 

Pacific Design Center

The Pacific Design Center (PDC) is a 1,200,000 square foot decorating and furniture market utilized by the design community. It is located in West Hollywood in Los Angeles County near Beverly Hills. The main building is known as the Blue Whale because of its huge size relative to the surrounding buildings and its bright blue color. In addition to its more than 135 showrooms, the Pacific Design Center is home to a branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art and several restaurants.

 

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, founded in 1902, is a non-profit 958 bed hospital and medical center located in West Hollywood which is in Los Angeles County. The hospital employs more than 2,000 physicians and 10,000 employees, and is certified as a level 1 trauma center for adults and children. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is the largest employer in West Hollywood.

 

Melrose Avenue - Melrose District

Melrose Avenue is a highly popular shopping, dining, and entertainment destination in Los Angeles. The most famous section runs through Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Silverlake. Paramount Pictures Corporation is located on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood.

 

Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), founded in 1979, is a contemporary art museum with locations in Downtown Los Angeles near the Walt Disney Concert Hall, in the Little Tokyo section of Downtown Los Angeles, and in the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. The museum’s exhibits are primarily American and European contemporary art created after 1940. Donors pay approximately 80% of the expenses of operating the three branches.

 

Beverly Grove

Beverly Grove is a small affluent neighborhood that is adjacent to both Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Beverly Grove is home to the eight story Beverly Center and more than 24,000 people.
