Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park

Cornell

Seminole Hot Springs is a small unincorporated community in western Los Angeles County located in the Santa Monica Mountains south of Agoura Hills, north of Malibu, west of Malibou Lake, and just southeast of Cornell. Paramount Ranch is to the northeast. The Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park, a resident owned park, is the largest community within Seminole Hot Springs. Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park is a member of the Las Virgenes Homeowner's Federation.

 

Seminole Hot Springs Spa

In 1912, Lucky Baldwin, a local resident, discovered natural hot springs in the Cornell area just south of Agoura which he developed into a popular spa that attracted more than one thousand visitors every weekend. He named the spa Seminole Hot Springs. By the late 1950s, hot mineral baths became unpopular resulting in the closing of the once famous spa. In 1967, the spa facilities were razed and replaced by Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park which continues to operate.

 

Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park

Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park is a resident owned mobile home park, consisting of 215 single and double wide manufactured homes, organized as a cooperative ahd California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation. The park has a large clubhouse with a game room, meeting rooms, fitness center, library, kitchen, and TV room. There is also a 3.3 acre lake for the members of the park to enjoy. The park is surrounded by the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains.

 

Seminole Springs Lake

Seminole Springs Lake is-a private-lake located within Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park in Seminole Hot Springs, California. The 3.3 acre lake is surrounded by the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains and serves as an important part of the habitat for many species of local wildlife.

 

La Sierra Canyon

La Sierra Canyon is a valley located in the Santa Monica Mountains near Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park and Seminole Hot Springs. The valley is a habitat for bobcats, coyotes, raccoons, mountain lions, and other wildlife.

 

Seminole Overlook

Seminole Overlook is a local overlook in the Santa Monica Mountains located on the east side of Mulholland Highway less than one mile east of Kanan Road near Seminole Hot Springs and Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park.

 

Ballard Mountain

Agoura Hills has a 2,031 foot mountain called Ballard Mountain, named after John Ballard who was a former slave and early pioneer from Kentucky. Ballard first came to the area in 1859. He was able to move his family to 320 acres of land he and his family acquired near Seminole Hot Springs, just south of Agoura Hills in 1880. Ballard Mountain is in the Santa Monica Mountains in western Los Angeles County.

 

Cornell

Cornell is a small unincorporated community in the wine country of the Santa Monica Mountains in western Los Angeles County, north of Malibu, south of Agoura Hills, and immediately west of Malibou Lake. Seminole Hot Springs, another small community in the Santa Monica Mountains, is located to the southeast. Many of the homes are built on large land parcels and many of the homeowners have horses. There are numerous hiking and riding trails in the area. Peacocks roam the area which is also home to rabbits, coyotes, and bobcats .
