Cheeseboro Canyon

Palo Comado Canyon

The Cheeseboro Canyon and Palo Comado Canyon are located in the northern section of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, north of Agoura Hills, east of Oak Park, west of Bell Canyon, and northwest of Calabasas. Water from these canyons flow south to the Pacific Ocean. Bobcats, coyotes, deer and rabbits roam freely and the canyons have the largest numbers of birds of prey nesting areas of any area in the lower 48 states. There are extensive trails within the two nearby canyons with spectacular views of Oak Park, Agoura Hills, and Simi Valley.

China Flat is the newest addition to the Cheeseboro and Palo Comado Canyon trails and is near Simi Peak, the highest peak in the Simi Hills.
