Westwood Village
Westwood is an affluent residential neighborhood, commercial neighborhood, and home to the University of California, Los Angeles. Beverly Crest is to the north, Bel Air, Brentwood and the Veterans Administration are to the north and west, Beverly Hills is to the east, and Century City is to the south. Westwood is part of the Westside. The highly affluent neighborhood of Holmby Hills is part of Westwood. The historical Westwood Village and the Los Angeles California Temple, which is the second largest temple operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are also located in Westwood.
Westwood Recreation Center
The Westwood Recreation Center is located in the Westwood Community of Los Angeles. It features an indoor gym with weights, picnic areas, a children's play area, barbeque pits, a lighted baseball diamond, lighted basketball courts, and a community room. The facility is maintained and operated by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
Westwood Village
Westwood Village is the primary commercial center in Westwood and is located north of Wilshire Boulevard, west of Hilgard Avenue, east of Gayley Avenue, and south of Le Conte not far from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Several of the buildings have been declared Los Angeles Historic - Cultural Monuments and are definitely worth seeing. Westwood Village is home to the Hammer Museum and many fine restaurants.
Westwood Public Library
The Westwood Public Library is part of the Los Angeles Public Library System. It includes a children's area, teen area, study rooms, and lots of computers. It is a great place to visit.
Geffen Playhouse
The Geffen Playhouse, founded in 1995, is a popular non-profit community theater in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The theater seats 512 and is quite beautiful. Ticket prices are moderately priced, but the quality, of performances is very high.
Holmby Hills
Holmby Hills is a highly affluent neighborhood in Westwood which is in the Westside region of Los Angeles adjacent to Beverly Hills on the east and Bel Air on the north. Holmby Hills is made up of large residential estates and is part of the Platinum Triangle. It is only a few minutes from the University of California, Los Angeles and was home to Tongva Indians for more than 8,000 years. Residents have included Arthur Letts, Sidney Brody, Walt Disney, Jack Benny, Bugsy Siegel, Armand Hammer, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Donald Bren.
De Neve Square Park
De Neve Square Park is a small, beautiful park in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles adjacent to East Gate Bel Air. The park' is named after Felipe de Neve, a former Spanish governor of Alta California during the period of Spanish control.
