South Bay
The South Bay is a large region of Los Angeles County which is south of Westchester and the Los Angeles International Airport, extending south along the southern shore of the Santa Monica Bay which is part of the Pacific Ocean. The South Bay includes the Beach Cities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach. It also includes EI Segundo, Torrance, Gardena, Inglewood, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula cities of Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates. Parts of the City of Los Angeles, small unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, and other small incorporated cities are included as part of the South Bay. The South Bay region is bordered on the north by the Westside, on the northeast by Los Angeles, on the east by the Gateway Cities, on the southeast by Long Beach, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

South Bay Chinese School
The South Bay Chinese School, a non-profit organization located in Palos Verdes, has been offering Chinese language classes for children and adults since 1971. It is the stated mission of the school to instill an awareness of the Chinese heritage and to create programs that will introduce the Chinese culture to the community. South Bay Chinese School has many corporate and business sponsors which are greatly appreciated.
Madrona Marsh Preserve
The Madrona Marsh Preserve is a vernal pool or marsh located in Torrance which is in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. Madrona Marsh is a valuable habitat for many types of birds, reptiles, and small mammals, and is used by EI Camino College as an outdoor biology and botany lab. The City bf Torrance operates the Madrona Marsh Nature Center in cooperation with the Friends of the Madrona Marsh. The Madrona Marsh Preserve and nature center are open to the public !several days each week.
South Coast Botanic Garden
The South Coast Botanic Garden, established in 1959, in an 87-acre public garden located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula which is in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. The garden contains over 200,000 plants including 2,000 species from around the world. Specialty gardens include a Japanese garden, a fuchsia garden, and a rose garden. A man-made lake attracts more than 200 species of birds that either make their home at the garden or use it as a stop in their annual migration. South Coast Botanic garden is absolutely beautiful and worth visiting.
