Moorpark is a city located in Ventura County, west of Simi Valley, north of Thousand Oaks, and east of Camarillo. Fillmore is to the north. The Santa Rosa Valley is to the south. Moorpark College, a California Community College, is located in the city and has an enrollment exceeding 15,000 students.

 

Moorpark Foundation for the Arts

The Moorpark Foundation for the Arts is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to providing support for the arts in the City of Moorpark. The organization is governed by an elected board of directors. Memberships are welcome.

 

Moorpark College

Moorpark College, established in 1967, is a public community college in Moorpark which is Ventura County. The 150-acre campus currently serves more than 14,000 enrolled students. Moorpark College has the highest degree completion rate among all of the California Community Colleges.

 

Moorpark College Performing Arts Center

Moorpark College offers Associate's degrees in Performing Arts where students can learn acting, directing, play writing, lighting, sound, costume and makeup design, and technical skills. The college offers a schedule of performances each year that are open to the public. They are well attended. Seating is available for more than 400.

The High Street Arts Center is a large 270 seat community theater in Moorpark that serves Simi Valley, Camarillo, Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks. The Moorpark Foundation for the Arts is the organization that promotes and supports the art center.

 

America's Teaching Zoo

America's Teaching Zoo is a five acre exotic animal training facility at Moorpark College. It is home to more than 200 hundred different types of animals and is growing. It is open to the public most weekends.

 

Moorpark Symphony Orchestra

The Moorpark Symphony Orchestra, established in 1990, is sponsored by Moorpark College and consists of over 75 dedicated musicians. Its performers consist of professionals, faculty, students, and talented members of the local community.

 

Moorpark Active Adult Center

The Moorpark Active Adult Center offers many programs for active seniors. Fitness classes, line dancing, Tai Chi, Yoga, bingo, computer classes, art, cards, and more are available.

 

Happy Camp Canyon Regional Park

Happy Camp Canyon Regional Park is a 3,000-acre regional park located in the eastern foothills north of Moorpark in Ventura County. The park has over 12.5 miles of hiking and equestrian trails. Wildlife includes deer and mountain lions. The area was once home to the Chumash people.

 

Arroyo Vista Community Park

Arroyo Vista Recreation Center

The Arroyo Vista Community Park is a 69 acre park in Moorpark and is home to the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center. The park and center feature 8 tennis courts, basketball courts, 4 softball fields, 4 soccer fields, a roller hockey court, a football field, volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, barbeques, restrooms, children's play areas, a gymnasium, and lots of shade trees and open space.

 

Moorpark Country Club

Moorpark Country Club offers a 27 hole golf course in Moorpark, Ventura County. The club is open to the public, but offers several levels of memberships. The club offers a practice area and restaurant. Facilitate are available for weddings and other special events.

 

Tierra Rejada Park

Tierra Rejada Park in Moorpark is an B acre community park that features 3 tennis courts, picnic tables, barbeques, a children's play area, restrooms, a basketball court, and lots of open space and shade trees.

 

Mountain Meadows Park

Mountain Meadows Park in Moorpark is an 8 acre community park featuring 2 multi-purpose ball fields, picnic areas, barbeques, a large children's play area, 2 basketball courts, restrooms, and lots of shade trees and open space.

 

Monte Vista Nature Park

Monte Vista Nature Park is a neighborhood park in Moorpark that offers five acres of hiking areas, a large children's play area, picnic areas, barbeques, lots of trees, and incredible views. The park is owned and maintained by the County of Ventura.

Country Trail Park is an 8 acre community park in Moorpark that features walking trails, picnic areas, barbeques, a children's play area, and plenty of shade trees and open space.

 

Peach Hill Park

Peach Hill Park is a 10 acre community park in Moorpark that features a multipurpose field, a baseball field, basketball courts, covered picnic areas, barbeques, a children's play area, restrooms, and lots of shade trees and open space.

 

Campus Canyon Park

Campus Canyon Park is a six acre park in Moorpark near the Moorpark College Campus that features multipurpose sports fields, a basketball court, picnic areas, barbeques, restrooms, a children's play area, and plenty of green open space.

 

Arroyo Simi

Arroyo Simi, also referred to as Simi Creek, is a 19-mile stream running from the city of Simi Valley from east to west before it enters into the city of Moorpark. It originates at Corriganville Park near the Santa Susana Pass and travels about twelve miles through Simi Valley and then continues about seven miles through Moorpark where it merges with Arroyo Las Posas near Hitch Road. Arroyo Simi is a tributary to the Calleguas Creek which enters the Pacific Ocean near Mugu Lagoon near the Naval Air Station Point Mugu.

 

Poindexter Park

Poindexter Park is a 10 acre community park in Moorpark that features a skate park, two children's play areas, a basketball court, baseball fields, picnic areas, barbeques, horseshoe pits, and lots of open space and shade trees.

 

Campus Park

Campus Park is a 2.5 acre park in Moorpark, near the Moorpark college campus, that features basketball, picnic areas, barbeques, a children's play area, restrooms, and lots of open space.
