Koreatown is a community in central Los Angeles with imprecise borders, but includes the areas between Beverly Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard, and between 'South Wilton Place, and Vermont Avenue. Koreatown is a densely populated area with an estimated 130,000 residents living within the community. There are many authentic Korean restaurants, import stores, and hotels in the community. Southwestern Law School is on the eastern end of Koreatown.

 

Korean American Coalition - Los Angeles

The Korean American Coalition, established in 1983, is a non-profit membership organization formed to promote and protect the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American Community in Southern California. The Korean American Coalition endeavors to achieve its goals through education, leadership development, registering voters, and building coalitions with other groups.

 

Korean American Chamber of Commerce

The Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles, established in 1971, was formed to ensure and facilitate the growth and development of the Korean American business community in Southern California. The chamber has numerous events each year including many networking opportunities and welcomes people from all communities.

 

Korean School Association of America

The Korean School Association of America, founded in 1982, is a non-profit organization that supports weekend Korean language schools in Los Angeles County and Orange County.

 

Koreatown Public Library

Pio Pico Koreatown Branch Library

The Koreatown Library is part of the City of Los Angeles Public Library. It includes a children's area, teen area, and meeting room. It has an extensive collection of Korean books, magazines, and newspapers.

 

Korean Cultural Center - Los Angeles

The Korean Cultural Center's mission is to broaden and improve U.S. and Korean relations through cultural and educational activities. The center was established in 1980 and is operated by the South Korean government's Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The center features a museum, art gallery, and library. The community is invited to visit and learn more about Korea and its history of more than 5,000 years. The Korean Cultural Center is located at 5505 Wilshire Boulevard in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles.

 

Korean Bell of Friendship

The Korean Bell of Friendship and Pavilion is a massive bronze bell housed in a beautiful stone pavilion located in the Los Angeles community of San Pedro, which is at the south end of Los Angeles County. The bell was presented to the American people in 1976 and was declared a Los Angeles Historic - Cultural Monument in 1978. The Korean Bell of Friendship is located at the Korean-American Peace Park which was previously part of the Fort MacArthur military base.
